Gia Long Tomb

Tomb of Gia Long is located on the left bank of the Perfume River, at Thien Tho mount, about 16km south of the Hue center. The tomb was built in 1814 and was fully completed in 1820, in a boundless pine forest. In front of the tomb is crescent-shaped lake (semi-circle lake), in the back of the lake is the Honor court with two rows of statues of the mandarins, horses and elephants. After the Honor court and up on the hill top is Buu Thanh where has the tombs of the King and Queen. On the left of the complex is a stele pavilion. On the right is Minh Thanh Temple, where the King and his wife are honored.
