Go up to the Huong river to the next stop at Imperial Citadel. The Citadel was built in the north of river consisting of palaces under the Nguyen Dynasty. Courtyard of Ngo Mon, with the Thai Hoa Palace in the background. The former imperial seat of government and Hue’s prime attraction. This is a great sprawling complex of temples, pavilions, moats, walls, gates, shops, museums and galleries, featuring art and costumes from various periods of Vietnamese history. The Citadel reflected the life of the Emperor and Mandarin under the Nguyen ‘s reign. You will visit Forbidden City including King’s Palace, Nine Dynasty Urn, Five Phoenix Tower, and the Theater. The next famous place you have to visit in Hue when across the Huong river is Dong Ba Market.
You will have lunch in local restaurants to know Hue ‘s foods. Hue is famed for it’s traditional cuisine, such as Bun Bo, Banh Khoai, Nem Lui, Con hen,..and especially the Imperial cuisine cooked by the talented chefs. Some example restaurants for you to choose, for instant Ancient Hue Royal Cuisine and Gallery, La Carambole, Paradise Garden,… If you are a vegetarian, Hue is the best place you can have you flavor dishes. The people of Hue have a strong tradition of eating and cooking vegetarian food, so vegetarian restaurants are more common in Hue than in the rest of Vietnam . You can choose Bo De restaurant on Le Loi stress, Lien Hoa restaurant on Le Quy Don st, Tinh Tam, etc.
In the afternoon, you will have a ecological tour to Phu Mau village to explore the way local people make paper flowers and plant ecological gardens. Thanh Tien paper flowers have long been considered sacred objects for Tet. They are changed once a year and are revered as unfading flowers. Every year, colorful elegant paper flowers made in Thanh Tien village are sold before Tet in flower markets and some streets of Hue City. Despite fresh and plastic flowers of different varieties available in the market, Thanh Tien paper flowers are indispensable on Hue family altars. In the house of a local family, tourists will learn how to make many kinds of flower in traditional way. Besides, the local people will show tourists their green gardens.
After that, you will take a trip to Bach Ma Truc Lam pagoda located on Phu Loc town. To reach this pagoda, you will go by boat about 10 minutes and admire the beautiful scene of imposing mountains surrounding by a fresh water pond. You step up about 200 steps to see the pagoda vaporous in clouds and fogs. Then, the local people will take you by boat to the deep stream of Bach Ma mountain to go fishing in normal way of fisherman.
